Mihir is a fourth-year Economics and International Relations student passionate about public policy and development economics. She is intrigued by the application of economic strategies to address international challenges, and is interested in exploring the intersection between theoretical models and political frameworks. Having worked with the Exchange before, she is excited about using her experience to encourage meaningful discourse and partake in projects that have a positive impact. In her time off, she can be found spending time with her cat or cooking up a storm.

Casandra is a fourth-year Bachelor of International Economics student interested in economic development with a fascination for exploring the dynamic interplay between international and political relations in connection to the economy. Her passion to crafting articles stems from the power of communication and storytelling to shed light on complex global topics. Eager to embark on the role of an exchange author, Casandra is excited to engage in analytical creativity, driven by her aspiration to add on to the economic discussion.

Rayna is a first year Bachelor of Media Studies student, specializing in Political Science & Journalism and has an interest in governmental economic policies and international crises. As an author of four published novels with a passion to write about current political events, Rayna is excited to use her writing experience to write for IONA Exchange. She also hopes to share how political economics sparks innovation in new and old media and its effect on global peace. She's thrilled to work with a wonderful team.

Ivana Perez

Ivana is a second-year BA student interested in monetary systems, development in Latin America, and international finance. In her home city of Bogotá, Colombia, she founded "Jóvenes Por el Desarrollo" a project in which she led a group of young aspiring economics students by hosting insightful discussion forums with recognized economists from Bogotá universities. She is also the Executive Projects Director at VSEUS, showcasing her engagement with the UBC-Econ community. She is an author in Iona Exchange and wants to contribute with interesting articles regarding the topics she is passionate about. Outside of school, you can find Ivana playing tennis, dancing with friends, or enjoying the outdoors.

Gunho Kim

Gunho is a fourth-year Economics student in the BA program with interests in macroeconomics and economic history. Gunho looks forward to provoking thought (and hopefully conversation) through his articles with the Iona Exchange. He also currently serves as VP Finance at the Vancouver School of Economics Undergraduate Society (VSEUS).

Maheep Mahil

Maheep is a first-year Faculty of Arts student intending to major in Economics and Political Science. As a longtime contributor to various youth advocacy journals as well as writing his own novel at 14, Maheep is eager to share his thoughts regarding the economic issues of today. Andrew is a second-year student in the Bachelor of International Economics program at the UBC Vancouver School of Economics. As a part of the Iona Journal Exchange team, Andrew focuses his research and writing on topics concerning international development and sustainability, with a specific focus on the economics of poverty. Through his writing, Andrew works towards making quantitative economic analysis of complex topics more accessible and digestible to a wide audience of readers.
